The International Session in Athens
The flagship events of the EYP are its three annual International Sessions. Each of these sessions brings together about 270 young people from 34 countries for 10 days in different European countries. Look at the EYP Calendar to check out the dates and locations of the upcoming sessions.
This year, Athens is proud to be the host city of the 66th International Session of EYP. From 1 to 10 April, 250 teenagers, aged 16 to 20 years, from 34 European countries will meet here, in Greece, to learn, discuss and develop their European identities. The session is under the patronage of the president of the European Parliament, Mr Jerzy Buzek.
During these 10 days, we hope to transform Athens into a standing point for exchanging views and ideas, exploring and extending knowledge on topics focused on various fields, as well as getting in touch with other European cultures and customs. Moreover, the theme of the session “European Democracy 2.0, rediscovering democracy in its birthplace” focuses on a digital prospective of democracy, taking into account social and political factors in a networking society.
